MORBARK HURRICANE 18 chipper
Guaranteed by the world’s leading brand of chippers for over 45 years, Morbark, the Hurricane 18 model offers an hourly output of 100 m³ of material. Robust and reliable, and with an infeed throat opening of 51x76 cm, it has a top feed roller raised by two hydraulic cylinders to ensure optimum feeding of the timber, and a large twin spring to provide the necessary pressure to the feed roller. The chipper drum is fitted with 4 large chipping knives with replaceable blade supports, and 4 chip launch pockets. The drum has a diameter of 915 mm, and weighs approx. 540 kg, and is fitted with a lateral turbine to facilitate the expulsion of lighter material.
The machine is available with power ratings ranging from 125 to 260 hp, and the engine is fitted with an automatic electronic system that disengages the feed roller when the revs drop too low, and re-engages it when the revs return to normal in a way which is quite clear for the operator. The discharge chute is available in several lengths, and can be supplied with manual and hydraulic rotation, and with a manual or hydraulic terminal. A convenient radio control device is available as an optional to handle all the machine’s main functions.
The Hurricane 18 is fitted with a tandem axle with 4 x 16-ply 235/75r 17.5 tyres with 8 locking bolts, or with twin radio-controlled tracking. The machine is supplied with 2 hydraulic rear stabilizers, and 1 hydraulic rear stabilizer (rear stabilizers only on the tracked version).
Suitable for poplar-growers, but also for large road maintenance contractors, this is the perfect choice for anyone seeking uniform, high quality chips.
